INCORD FOUNDATION is essentially an Institute of Cord Cells and Research Development. A national-level non-profit organization registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013 and also incorporated with 12A, 80G, Niti Ayog, and CSR Certifications.
The primary objective of Incord Foundation is Public Cord Blood Banking.
Cord blood contains potentially lifesaving cells known as Stem Cells. These stem cells contribute to the development of organs, tissues and other body systems. Stem cells from a baby’s cord blood can be extremely helpful in treating many medical conditions like Anaemia, Leukaemia and Bone Marrow Cancer.
After a baby’s delivery, the umbilical cord blood is generally discarded as a medical waste. However, it can be cryogenically preserved and might become someone’s life-saving match along with being used in the treatment of more than 80 critical medical conditions. Instead of discarding, parents can donate it to Incord Foundation for treatments or transplantation of needy patients suffering from critical medical conditions.
The cases with the application of stem cells will increase in the future as post Covid-19, there is a rise in the number of various blood-related disorders & blood cancer cases. Apart from this, there may be an upsurge in such blood problems and other medical issues due to nuclear radiation as the globe may gradually be headed to nuclear war annihilation.
